PrayerWatch Saturday 28th May 2016
Around 20 people from five congregations gathered to pray from the William Booth College Tower. Including a majority who had not been before. We had an emphasis of praying blessing over Southwark and London. Two questions and two statements clearly came through in the feedback
We were reminded of the importance of continued prayer in its various forms. Especially the power of coming together in prayer.
Q1 What Do You See?
Habakkuk 2:1-3 as key verses
‘I will stand at my watch and station myself on the ramparts; I will look to see what he will say to me, and what answer I am to give to this complaint. Then the Lord replied: “Write do
wn the revelation and make it plain on tablets so that a herald may run with it. For the revelation awaits an appointed time; it speaks of the end and will not prove false. Though it linger, wait for it; it will certainly come and will not delay.’
Jeremiah and Nehemiah were also quoted. God is stirring hearts in different groups to build walls which have crumbled. Some will build one gate others another. The powerful prayers are building gates. Open gates that the King of glory might come in.
Ezekiel 33 – We are watchmen – the responsibility is not to be taken lightly.
Do not be discouraged – as you call on the name of the Lord – Southwark will change.
Seeing small lights everywhere. Southwark will light up. Be encouraged.
Q2; Whats The Message?
Accept the Lord – He is coming. Pray for labourers to rise up in different spheres.
Colossians 1:15-23 Jesus is Lord of all creation.
We prayed for Love Southwark and the opportunities the church has in evangelism together.
Nineveh – The Lord had great compassion for Nineveh (even the animals). His biggest struggle was the evangelist who refused to go in the right direction. He was fleeing from God’s presence (His face). Jonah fled but the Lord pursued. When Jonah did go there was the biggest revival ever recorded. God is looking for messengers who will be obedient – the result will be a great harvest. We need to ensure that God’s voice is heard in a way that it hasn’t been heard for a very long time.
What is God calling us from (apathy, laziness) and calling us to?(speak truth, righteousness and justice, to speak holiness, hope, joy, life, future, blessing). We prayed for the release of our mouths and that the church will be delivered from its muteness.
